What’s old is new again in the interiors world. Panoramic wall murals were a major decorative trend in the 18th century, but now we’re seeing the classicist accent integrated into more modern and eclectic spaces. We are definitely seeing it coming back in a BIG way. A space can really come to life in a fresh, delightful way when this Old World art is found side by side with modern elements.
Lately I’ve been obsessing over panoramic scenic wallpapers, specifically De Gournay wallpaper. Not just because I am currently working on 4 panoramic murals for a client in Nashville,TN. I am seeing this lovely art form all over the internet and social media.
This wall treatment works well in modern or traditional homes. With its romantic and somewhat exotic quality, panoramic murals can transform a space and make you believe you are entering another world.
De Gournay carries an impressive collection of wallpaper in this lovely art form. Zuber and Ananbo are very good sources as well. I should also warn you this type of wallpaper does not come cheap.
When time and budget permits, this beautiful art form will definitely be finding its way into my home. How about you…are you a fan of this wall application?
